Three Things First
I’ve rewritten my ‘About’ page. Basically an update but I’ve also added a list of quotes and I’m hoping you could help me find new ones. Secondly, I had a really weird morning. Last night, I reset my alarm to 15 minutes earlier in an attempt to get up, turn on the heat and go back to sleep so I’ll be warm when I wake up. I also went to sleep with the shirt I intended to go to work with and socks I needed to throw in the laundry bin. Come morning time I woke up and found that the heater was already on and I had no shirt. The only thing left of my previous night’s plan was socks. And it’s not that I woke up and can’t remember exactly what I did, I don’t even remember waking up. How do you take off a shirt AND throw it in the laundry bin without remembering it? This is a brand new leap for me. And since Bob is also printing song lyrics in his blog and I was listening to Stone Sour, here’s the poem at the end of their self-titled album.

צניחה שנייה מאחוריי
היום קמתי בבוקר וגיליתי, שלמרות שערוץ מזג האוויר טוען נגדי, בפאראדייב אומרים שהתנאים טובים והשמיים כחולים. תוך כדי נסיעה, בדיק חזותית אישרה את הנושא השנוי במחלוקת. אז שאלתי את בוב אם הוא רוצה לבוא והוא אישר, למרות שישן רק ארבע שעות. לא הייתי מציק לו אבל את זה הוא ציין רק בחצי הדרך.

עונה הלכה, עונה באה
אתמול ראיתי את הפרק הראשון של העונה השנייה של Sleeper Cell ולפני שבוע ראיתי את הפרק האחרון לבינתיים של Heroes. נראה לי שיש לי מה להגיד בנושא.

אז יש את התוכנית בערוץ AXN שהמציאו ב-SciFi ועכשיו הם באמת משדרים. זה עוד אחת מהשעשועונים המוזרים האלה שנמשכים עונה שלמה. לא, זאת לא תכנית מציאות. למי שלא מכיר, הם התחילו עם עשר אנשים שטוענים שהם סופר גיבורים ולכל אחד יש סיבה מטומטמת אחרת למה הם עושים את זה ורקע טיפשי לדמות המפגרת שלהם. אה כן, התחפושות שלהם יותר גרועות. בכל מקרה, ביומיים האחרונים חשבתי על זה קצת בעקבות עניין המוזיקה שלי בעבודה. מה אם אני הייתי ממויין לתוכנית הזאת, איזה דמות הייתי בוחר לעצמי. חשבתי על משהו כזה…

Irish Job Interview (November 2005)
An Irishman applies for a job, but the foreman won’t employ him until he passes a little maths test. Here’s your first question, the foreman said. “Without using numbers, represent the number 9.” “Without numbers?” the Irishman says, “Dat is easy.” and proceeds to draw three trees. “What’s this?” the boss asks. “Haven’t you got a brain? Tree and tree and tree makes nine,” says the Irishman. “Fair enough,” says the boss. “Here’s your second question. Apply the same rules using the number 99, this time.” The Irishman stares into space for a while, then picks up the picture that he has just drawn and makes a smudge on each tree. “Dere you go.” The boss scratches his head and asks, “How on earth do you get that to represent 99?” “Each of da trees is dirty now. A True Story (August 2005)
After digging to a depth of 100 metres last year, Russian scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 1000 years, and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network one thousand years ago. So, not to be outdone,in the weeks that followed, American scientists dug 200 metres and headlines in the US papers read: “US scientists have found traces of 2000 year old optical fibres, and have concluded that their ancestors already had advanced high-tech digital telephone 1000 years earlier than the Russians.” One week later,the Israeli newspapers reported the following: “After digging as deep as 5000 metres, Israeli scientists have found absolutely nothing. פחד אמיתי
היום קלטתי משהו. זה קרה בסביבות 12 בצהריים. לפני חודש קפצתי ממטוס. ובסוף השבוע הזה, אם ירצו פגעי מזג האוויר ולא יתנו רוחות מזרחיות שוב, אני אעשה את זה עוד פעם. הקטע הוא שאני מפחד. אני באמת מפחד. אני לחוץ ונרגש. כבר עבר הרבה זמן מאז שהרגשתי ככה. ואני אוהב כל רגע.
