Dental Work

I had to go the Teeth Woman today. No, not the dentist and not the tooth fairy. It was an appointment for her to clean my teeth and teach me how to brush them. Well, it’s never too late to learn something new. :-)

So, she drained my mouth and shoved a sonic-something into my teeth. It was a painfully interesting experience. The painful part was… well, I guess you can figure out for yourself. The interesting part is when she explained about the jaw’s construction. It appears that the gums envelop your teeth and there is a small space between the edge of the gums and the base of the tooth, something like a loose peice of skin.

And that is where you have to brush (Not too hard) because that’s where bacteria gather and where infections occur. What’s so interesting about this? Well it got me thinking about creation and god again. Why? Good question. (Let’s call it Square1)
Religious people will tell you that God created everything, right? So man is also god’s creation, right? And, according to Uri Orbach on today’s Last Word, God didn’t make anything without a reason. So, if man is god’s creation and is part of an intelligent design, then why the fuck do we have that space between our teeth and our gums which is only good for bacterial infection?

If this is the purpose then God is wicked. If it is not, then the design sucks. Well, I say the intelligent design suck anyway but that’s not the point here. The point is where this leads. It leads right back to the age old debate of science vs. religion. How did I get back here? Let me explain.

Religious people say that when religion explains something, then it reveals god’s ways. And when science explains something, it kills God. Like the argument? Listen to this. They will also tell you that when science can’t explain something, then it shows you that science is flawed and the miracle that is nature, can’t be fully explained. And when religion can’t explain something is because God doesn’t want us to know, because he works in mysterious ways.

That’s weirdness for you.
