The top stories are as follows:
Over 2,000 kids in Israel last year arrived at the brink of hospitalization becuase of parent abuse. Somehow, not enough people see it as severely and the situation continues.
What the fuck is wrong with people? We’re talking about a child of 3 to 7 years old who is beaten by his father or mother to the point where serious medical attention is needed. Does it not strike anyone as particulary wrong? Because it sure pisses the hell out of me.
The next item in line is the fact that the Israeli Air Force denied entry to a muslim-arab. The man’s an Israeli native. He lived here his whole life and he volunteered for the Air Force. He was recommended by his piloting instructor, an ex-Air Force pilot himself. They told him to volunteer for the Paratroopers. Reason given: None that I saw.
Well, this is definitely a problem. He is good natured, he really wants to join, he says he wants to contribute. Why not let him? Because if there is a one to gazillion chance that he is not all he says he is, that he is fooling the system, that he is/was/will be working with terrorists then giving the jet and the security clearance would be a huge problem for us.
So, I think it’s not right but under the circumstances, I can understand why they did it.
