The Bike Rider’s Manifesto

For millenia we’ve been on the sidelines, navigating the sidewalks where we were the threat and the inconvenience, drifting through the asphalt where we were the mince meat and the cannon fodder. But these are our streets now, the ones marked with two circles, a triangle and a cross. This is the only place where we reign supreme and it will not be taken from us.

You, who have wide sidewalks and four lanes of tarmac, you will not walk on the sacred path nor park on it.

You, who talk on your phone, you will look ahead and watch where you’re going.

You, who use the narrow paths, you will walk straight and not make sudden movements.

You, who are not fucking deaf, you will heed our ringing call and give us the respect we deserve.

And you, one and all, shall use the right lane and not take more space than you need!

This is a road. This is our road. And we will not be denied!

I am a bike rider. And this is my manifesto. You can try and resist. But we are the future.

Grok that.
