The point is to combine pretty much all your means of communication in one convenient package. Done well.
It’s suppose to help you communicate with many people, with many applications, with many additions all seamlessly strung together.
You are supposed to try it out and see how it works for you and what it can do for you.
It matters because it’s internet communication done now, done right.
