Don’t you see? there is only one race that we know that tried on purpose, conciously,to destroy another race with concious with out trying seriously to talk to it or warn it. I’m talking about us. The first Xenocide failed because the victims of the strike were able to hide exactly one pregnant female. The second attempt failed for a better reason – because there were people that decided to stop it. Not a few, many. The congress. A big company. A philosopher on Divine Spirit. A Samoi saint and his believers on Pacifica. Wung-Mu and I. Jane. And the officers and men of Admiral Lands, who finally understood the situation. We are getting better, you see? But the fact remains – Humans are the race with the strongest tendecy to refuse talking with other races and to prefer to destroy them completely. Maybe we can’t convince the Deskolads and maybe we can. But what scares me is the thought that we can’t be reasoned with. And that is the price you pay for misusing the Little Doctor, and we will never need it, for we have other tools. If we choose to use the Little Doctor, then we are not Raman. We can never be trusted, and we should die for the safety of the other concious races.
