Going Out
Ok, quick recap. We finished moving all the bags yesterday. It took us half the night… Well, it took the maintenance staff half the night. It took us half the day. We just organized the bags into piles and the maintenance crew would pick them up and distribute them.
Yonatan and Gilad wanted to take a break to watch the game at 15:00 so we came back at 17:00. The maintenance guys told us we were no longer needed so they disappeared again while I tried to wonder around and find something interesting to do. I wondered into a meeting with two parents who went to camp as kids and are now sending their kids to camp. It was quite educational. I just floated around for the rest of the day until evening time.
In the evening, Einav wanted to group up so I told her I’ll be at the Rox, our lounge. She said she’ll be there at 20:30. Around 20:30, they suddenly went canoing at twilight. I wanted to join but that meant going to get a swimming suit and a life vest and I said, forget it. So I just kept myself busy, watching Ghost Hunters, until around 22:20 when the Trek team came back, mostly freezing cold, and decided they were driving to the pub in town. I said I wanted to join.
Finally, around 23:00, after waiting for 20 minutes for them at the gate, they showed up and said that the TrekMobil was overbooked. So I had to walk the way. It wasn’t too bad, it’s only a few minutes, but I hate when made plans change.
So, I went out to Ashes and between all the beer, I found a bottle of Wild Grape Smirnoff. It was pretty good but pretty expensive (3$ for a bottle like Smirnoff Ice. It’s a big expensive, no?). And then I mostly sat around and talked to Einav. It was quite interesting and again funny how two people from Israel need to go half way across the world to meet.
Today we had nothing much to do. We had a few meetings about risk managment and safety and we met the support staff leaders. I took the early shift because I want to be in the Friday Night Live show tonight. I offered Chris and Stew some segments but they think Denis Leary is too much and that Letter to America a few posts down isn’t uplifting enough. Oh well, their loss.
Also, there’s a party at Trek tonight.

זוכר שהבטחתי לך שאני אעלה משהו בבלוג שלי (חתול) אז זה שם, אם יש לך זמן לקרוא.
$3 for a good drink in a pub is not expensive in Israel – its rather cheap. One can expect a good half littre of beer in a decent pub to go for about $4 – $6.
A question, if you may – what this Trek business ? I assume its not about a Star Trek fan club, right ? I initially though you’re talking about guys that do treks.
I also have more instructions about hebrew keyboard in the same post as we talked about (check the dashboard)
