you know that I prefer the honesty of the system in Israel?
al least here they admit they don't give a crap
in the states the only reason they use those dates is because using less
does not make it sound plausible, and using 2020 makes them sound forward thinking, when actually they really aren't

case in fact - in Israel around 3% of our needs come from renewable energy and have done so for over 30 years, want to know what I'm talking about? SOLOR WATER HEATERS - yep heating water primarily by solar power saves 3% on average in Israel, in the 1970 an american president expressed hope that the union would be capable of this by 1984-85, it didn't happen

long story short with existing renewable energy technologies we can get... in the next post i'll give the exact number but i remember it being around 20%-30%... the reason no one does is legislation - these technologies cost A LOT of money and take years to repay themselves - however you can also get the price of acquisition returned to you from the government (in israel and the union) after 8-10 years, as oppose to a barrel of cheep gasoline that you would use for heating and would get a refund before next quarter - this is the official policies

so if they really want to improve the rate of technology let the refund get back faster, or the companies will keep using technology that isn't renewable but does not show up on their books as a loss
