קוד פתוח = פיראטיות
זאת אחת מהכתבות המוזרות ביותר שקראתי לאחרונה ושמראה יפה מאוד שאנשים מפחדים ממה שהם לא מבינים. מתברר שיש קבוצה בארצות הברית שטוענת שמי שעוסק בקוד פתוח עוסק באמת בהפרת זכויות יוצרים ומנסה גם לשכנע את זה את הממשל.
It turns out that the International Intellectual Property Alliance, an umbrella group for organisations including the MPAA and RIAA, has requested with the US Trade Representative to consider countries like Indonesia, Brazil and India for its “Special 301 watchlist” because they use open source software.What’s Special 301? It’s a report that examines the “adequacy and effectiveness of intellectual property rights” around the planet – effectively the list of countries that the US government considers enemies of capitalism. It often gets wheeled out as a form of trading pressure – often around pharmaceuticals and counterfeited goods – to try and force governments to change their behaviours.
זה פשוט כל כך מעצבן שאנשים מפגרים עם יותר מדי כוח מנסים להרוס רעיונות טובים. עם קוד פתוח ותוכנה חופשית אפשר להתחרות טוב מאוד עם הענקים ואפילו הענקים משתמשים בזה בעצמם. גוגל נותנת המון מוצרים בחינם והם נחשבים אנטי-קפיטליסטים? איך בכלל מגדירים אנטי קפיטליסטים ומה רע בזה?
אני מאוד אוהב את הרעיון של “אני עושה דברים שאני אוהב ומחלק אותם ובתמורה אני יכול לקחת חינם דברים שאנשים אחרים עושים בשביל הכיף”.
